NOT black. They are charcoal. Charcoal is dark grey... not black. The color stated on the sham package reads "CHARCOAL" not black. I am keeping them because returns cost everyone money and wastes resources. My bedding is black not charcoal. -sigh-

My 23 old Granddaughter loves Unicorns and started smiling and laughing when I gave her this one! It is super soft and looks brand new! Thank you for the awesome deal!
