Dear Lisa, Wow! What an absolutely adorable Mary Meyer plush fawn! I adore it! It is so lovely and cuddly, and the fawn has the sweetest face. It looks so realistic! I have already added it to my stuffed animal collection on my bed. The fawn has already become one of my favorites! I’ll have to think of a name for it. Thank you for listing the plush fawn on Poshmark which enabled me to purchase it. I fell in love with it at first sight, and I knew that I had to have it! I have just learned about Mary Meyer stuffed animals since I have been shopping on Poshmark. She created the most adorable and wonderful animals. I hope to purchase others on Poshmark in the future. I wonder if she is still creating these wonderful animals. I feel so lucky to have discovered her. I was a child in the 1950’s, and I don’t remember hearing about Mary Meyer. She may not have not been creating stuffed animals that long ago. Thank you for everything, including wrapping the plush fawn snugly and securely when you mailed it to me. I appreciate your care and thoughtfulness. Finally, I want to add that I’m Also from Illinois. I was born in Chicago and grew up in Evanston, Illinois. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I used the ride the Illinois Central, now Amtrak, to and from Chicago and Champaign all four years that I attended the U of I. In fact one time, I stopped and visited Kankakee to see, I think a Frank Lloyd house there or to visit a famous restaurant on the river there? I don’t remember which. Anyway, I enjoyed my short visit in Kankakee, and remember that the train always made a stop at Kankakee coming and going from Chicago to Champaign. Does Amtrak stop in Kankakee? I loved and still love, as an alumna, the U of I! I haven’t been back to visit in years. I moved to the Washington, DC area in 1992 for a job transfer to a librarian position in Washington after working as a librarian for a number of years in Chicago. I retired at the end of March, 2020, after working as a librarian for 43 years. I love the DC area, especially since I majored in history at the U of I. However, I feel so lucky to have grown up in and then attended college in Illinois and have experienced the advantages offered by both. Also, on another topic, are you related, by any chance, to the Robert Ballard who discovered the Titanic in 1985? I am just curious. I’ve been interested in the Titanic for many years. I never thought it would be found, but Robert Ballard and his team did it otherwise. What an amazing feat he and his team did! Take care and stay safe. All the best and Happy New Year!
