Love Notes

I don’t even know if I have enough room to leave this story… but I have to try. I had this bear until I was 15. My mom who was adopted as a baby had the most amazing mom adopt her. Unfortunately, she died when I was 2. The story is she had this bear and used its pockets to store her chapstick in the hospital. She gave the bear to me before passing. So from 2 years old on I called this my “Sam bear” (named after her). I have no actual memories of her, but always had my bear. At around 15 I was mostly living at a friend’s during a difficult time. And you bet I brought my Sam bear with me. A flood happened near us and my bf’s mom was grabbing stuff to donate to survivors. Unknowingly she must have grabbed my bear to donate. I cried so hard. It was weirdly upsetting. I even went to help organize stuff and give it out to the survivors and had hoped to find my bear, but there was no way. I cried for literally years every time I thought of this bear. It was really the only thing I ever had from my childhood. I am 36 years old now and have never stopped thinking about him. Now that I have a child of my own it has made me think about my bear more than ever. So I randomly started to google “white fuzzy bear with red pockets from the 90’s”…. 🤣 a LOT of bears came up. I didn’t find him. Then I found a bear from this company who’s face reminded me of mine… so the next time I googled the American bear company… and sure enough… I land on this page, on Poshmark and there he is. My Sam bear. 🥹 I can not tell you how happy I was. Tears of joy. I immediately bought him. He is in MUCH better condition than my bear was. Wrapped with such care and love like he deserves. And when I got him, the tears fell freely as I face timed my mom to show her. So thank you. Thank you SO SO much. For helping stitch this tiny piece of my heart back up. 🥰😘🥹❤️
