vintage 1960s Rothmoor red wool coat with mink collar, Mary Tyler Moore, b 40

sassy Mary Tyler Moore - style red wool coat by Rothmoor. It has a fur collar that I am pretty sure is mink--but I'm not an expert in furs. I know it is not rabbit. Love those unusual buttons ... the nubbly checkerboard wool (sort of alternating bouclé and not-bouclé) ... Bracelet-length dolman sleeves ... and I always fall in love with the Rothmoor dog. Satin lining is in unstained, untorn condition. The collar seems to be detachable but is sewn in with big, loose stitches. Looks great turned up. Condition This coat is in very good vintage condition, with a couple of issues. There's a balding spot at the top back, as pictured. The bald spot is less than 1.5 inches long, and because of the location, it will probably be covered by your hair or hat. The cause doesn't seem to be moths; I suppose that spot just got a little tired. Other flaws: the lining needs to be sewn back on at the wrists, and the label needs a few tacks to be secure again. I found one little black smutch smaller than a fingertip. A couple other spots where the lining could be re-tacked, but not necessary. Measurements PTP in back: 23 waist (approximate): 27 (flared) length, measured from base of collar to hem: 39 sweep at bottom: 71 sleeve from approximate top (a little hard to gauge because of the dolmans): 19 sleeve from underarm to wrist opening: 13 collar width at back: 4.5 This is a fairly heavy piece; it weighs a little over 4 pounds.
