I absolutely love this idea. I think I have a good closet with a lot of variety. Everything I sell is Reposh. I was larger and older and bought four or 500 pieces from 4 to 6 very reputable closets on posh. Only halfway through with the listings. Was getting one or two sales a week and now it seems like nothing. Would love for you to look at my closet. Received several post picks. Just as an FYI, I cannot read any of the top parts of your post. Too small.

@bellacincy. Personally, I do not have a strategy for growing my sales. I am looking to see what works for others. I participate in share groups, knowing I'm getting return shares. There are many groups out there: check out @official_forum to find one that may work for your schedule. I'm just getting into a FB group that does analytics and studies on what works. Im going to ask permission to post their 30 minute strategy & tag you.

#3 on your men's shirts: I looked at some of your 4th photos on the listing. Most of them are precise, capture the color and style, logo size and brand. That would catch my eye on a cover shot quicker, because it shows me the detail. We all pretty much know what the men's button down looks like. So, re-think cover shots. I love a great flat lay man's cover shot. Google flat lay men's clothing or really they have ideas for women's too. @bellacincy

#4 Try to find a great location to capture the best natural lighting for your hanging items. Perhaps getting a pretty clothes hanger (or make your own Pinterest has them) to adhere to a theme and system that identifies you. I've seen Diva Hangers, I need one, or be creative, make one with wire. Sometimes you do not need to take the whole item in your cover shot. If you're using a hanger for a skirt or shorts, maybe just half or the same area on each one or...

#5 once again, flat lay cover shot. Use your imagination or if you're like me google or Pinterest ideas. I changed my closet SO many times, it's not even funny. I have mannequins, flat lays, shadow boxes I made from a large plastic storage box from Walmart, bought a $1 sheet poster board, put it in there, it acts like a filter for harsh lighting on my bathroom cabinet...it helps with my jewelry listings however, now most of mine are stock photos. #6 look at stale listings that have tons of likes...see how long it's been listed (from comments-that's the only way I know how). Many say that likers are waiting on price, lowest, drop, rock bottom prices...or never intend to buy. What I do, I take new photos, save to my camera roll. Edit them, get them ready to upload new listing. On your OLD listing, edit, copy and paste your description so that you can use it again, upload, edit paste, etc.

#7 these old stale listings are brand new listings, will show up in the party listings, first look...a whole new audience and new likers. Always mark higher than your last price, to allow for price drops or bundle discounts.

@bellacincy #8 try mixing up your listings. Some like variety, some like divisions. What works today, may not work tomorrow.
I do not have kids clothes, so I cannot elaborate on them...I've seen cute flat lay kids cover shots too. Your kids clothes look cute and should sell. I'll look for ideas and post them in my closet and tag you.

@chrissy1ou Hi Chrissy. In looking thru your closet, I would like to suggest possibly a white background for your flat lay cover shots. If you ask at Hobby Lobby, they have larger than normal styrofoam bulletin board available. Something that would accommodate a flat lay cover shot. I bought a huge artist canvas that works for my jeans. They have larger share ones, but it may be easier to handle the large styrofoam board. (Without the folds) #1

Google flat lay cover shots, or when you see one here on PM take a screenshot (delete asap) and try something similar or better yet, make it unique, so that when someone sees it, they say, that's Chrissy's listing. Pinterest has tons of "flat lay cover shots" to look for inspiration. #2

@chrissy1ou I read some of your descriptions...excellent. Measurements, details, laundering are all excellent to grab the potential buyer! Try and use all the character spaces or as many as possible in the title. These words are key to the search function: One may get better results using : A-Line Open Back Red Velvet Evening Gown as opposed to Velvet Formal Dress.

#4 @chrissy1ou Go thru older, stale listings (use comments to estimate how long they're listed). Many of us have determined that mostly all the likers are not buyers, unless they're wanting to wait until you drop to infinity and beyond. What I do, is take new photos...crop and/or frame on Typography or Rhonna Designs.

#5 @chrissy1ou On the old listing, go to edit, copy and paste your description to the New listing of the same item. Delete old listing. It gives the listing new status, goes to first look in parties, and may appeal to new buyers to like and come back to soon. Find your own brand, theme, logo and/or closet icon...so that when someone sees your icon, they immediately know, that's Chrissy. They will spot your listings in the feeds...Cha Ching.

@chrissy1ou As far as getting a mannequin, I was lucky to get one for $20 from someone closing their boutique. This was before I was addicted to Poshing. Many like to see clothes being modeled, many like to see it on a mannequin, others think, I won't look like that either way and buy from the cover shot, whether it being on a hanger, mannequin or flat lay. I know many say they prefer not to buy when they see it on a floor. I launder everything anyway, before I send. #7

@chrissy1ou #addicted for almost three years now! 😜 Closet consult at Poshfest was definitely not long enough (10 minutes) to spend with each Posher. It was the first year they did this and hopefully it will have longer intervals next time.
See something similar to what you're selling? Look to see how many likes, follow those people and share some of their listings. They may follow you back, come in your closet and BAM, see what they liked in your closet and buy it!

@chrissy1ou Work on getting your closet done, they just got thru with #PoshLoveFest and gearing up for Christmas...lots going on. I know they now have an application for co-hosting a party...can't remember SU's or if they're still going thru emails. If you don't hear back within 3 mos. of your email, send one more email. They do read ALL emails, I can attest to that!

@melissa2383 While looking thru your closet, I see many bras. Take advantage of as many character spaces in your title so that it pulls up in a search. Example:
Extra Padded, Plunge Mopas (Brand) Bra | Lace Cups | Back Closure | Wide Sides

@melissa2383 #3 I notice a mannequin in some of your photos. Perhaps you may want to stage an area with great lighting and refresh some cover shots...or even better, is they're stale (I look at comments to see dates) take new photos. Go to the old listing, edit and copy your description so you don't have to measure or retype it, delete old listing, re-list. Upload photos, paste description, mark up a little higher than your old listing, especially if you already reduced.

@janisboutique Great Ideas! I will work on improving some photos and descriptions. I always thought that the title should be short so people can see what you are writing, I didn't think about how they search for items. That's a great tip! And I did think about re-posting items that were older, but I didn't know if that was a no-no.

#4 @melissa2383 Talking amongst other Poshers, we agree if it's got a ton of likes, sitting there, you could reduce till doomsday, they may not buy. The new listing will show up to the first look when you share to parties, and catch a new audience. Statistics show we make more sales when we list 3/5 listings daily...I cannot attest to it, because I do not have that many things to list.

#5 @melissa2383 Poshmark is my hobby...nothing gives me a thrill like a sale...two/three a week is fine...I get stressed when I have 3/5 in one day! I organized to prepare for Christmas, got boxes ready (jinx) and am ready to ship! 😜🎁 share your listings three times a day, especially to parties.

#6 @melissa2383 I recently changed my closet name, with hopes to give myself a new look, #brand and audience. I have hopped skipped around the icon since day one...just someone recognized me, oops I did it again...changed it. I think it's great to have a following by having someone immediately recognize my brand, therefore my new strategy.

@melissa2383 #7 If you choose an icon, make it something memorable. They may not remember my closet name, but when they see my icon in the feeds, they'll remember thats who had great customer service, quality items, etc.

@janisboutique How did you change your name without making a brand new closet?? I read the Poshmark guidelines and I couldn't find a way to change my name. I'm still waiting to here from Poshmark to host a party and become a suggested user. I emailed like 1-2 months ago and heard nothing yet 😔

@melissa2383 I just read your comment. Now there is an application to co-host. Go to the blog.poshmark.com see if you find it...in he meantime I'll look for the link for you. Give time for SU, they have been extremely busy getting thru with Poshfest and the 5th Birthday. I'll make a note to send in an email for you too!
