liquid satin 1940's 40's BLACK DRESS S M

Gorgeous weighty black satin (liquid drape) dress from the 1940's. Deceptively "simple" design, but the hip wrap is genius. The top part naturally blousons when on because of where the waist sits. Side unpainted metal zip closure, and 3 covered buttons at the back of the neck. No tags inside, but I don't think it's "homemade". The quality is fabulous. I think it probably originally had shoulder pads, and I personally feel like this should have them, because it'll make the top structure hang even better. But I know shoulder pads aren't for everyone, so I'm leaving the add/leave out choice to you. Overall fantastic condition, to be very picky I found some very minor fabric scratching hidden in the gathers of the hip, and a couple on the back... I tried to show them here, but they're so minor, it really doesn't show in the pictures. NO underarm discoloration. Generally you do NOT find 75+ year old dresses that are in this great of condition, so this is a real gem! Fits approximately a M (US 6 to small 8), please compare the measurements below with a dress you have at home that fits well. Basically the shoulders and waist should be fitted, it's ok if the bust and hips are "too big" for you, this will drape beautifully as long as this fits your shoulders and waist well. Shoulders: 15.75" Sleeves: 6" long, 15" around the bicep Bust: 38" Waist: 29" Hip: 39" around the base of the zipper level Length: 17.25" shoulder to waist seam, but the waist will sit up wherever you are 29"
