blueskyaction Awww and this is the same thing I wish I could say to my doggy. She means the WORLD to me. Rescued her through my ex-figure skating coach when I was 17 (wow I can't believe we've had her for seven years now!), had decided I was going the community college then transfer route (meaning I'd be at my mom's for I THOUGHT three more years, tops, likely two--one gap year plus either two years and a light workload or full-time for a year, the rest of my pre-reqs were met by AP exams. I think my mom assumed I'd end up transferring to UCLA as well, which is a 10-20 min drive from her place depending on traffic, which I ended up doing, not willingly or happily at first (I'd been admitted to Johns Hopkins Uni, which was not only a huge honor because of how selective they are with transfers (8% acceptance), but also a sort of pipe dream come true--I actually announced, "Well here comes another rejection" before opening the email and links, since Stanford had recently rejected me, EARLY, before the 15th when we were supposed to hear, which I translated into a SUPER rejection. I ended up letting out the LONGEST string of almost every curse-word because I was so shocked and BEYOND elated to be accepted. I visited, I fell in love, then the day after I flew home my mom told me to sign my intent to register at UCLA because it was decided I would not go to Hopkins. She's a UCLA law school grad and a die hard Bruin. I was ALLOWED to get her since I'd be around, but I DECIDED to get her as an unofficial therapy dog because I was severely, severely depressed. I love her so so so much and I wish she could see into MY eyes and know that SHE means the world to ME.

jentucker I'm a HUGE dog lover! I have 2 English Bulldogs and they're the loves of my life. There's no feeling like the unconditional love of a dog - wouldn't trade it for anything. And my love doesn't extend just to my own - the other day my husband and I pulled over and left our car running in the middle of a busy street while we chased down a runaway pug we spotted. We lost site of him and it's been eating me up ever since :( Anyway, it's nice to meet another dog aficionado here on Posh!

I also have a special fondness for golden retrievers (so smart, nice, and family-friendly), shelties, and a hybrid I recently discovered: the schnorkie (schnauzer + yorkie). amyleigh71 They are catahoulas. Well one is a full blooded catahoula. The other one we rescued and she has coon dog in her buy some catahoula as well so I call her my coonahoula. They are typically hunting dogs but ours are lovin dogs :)

amyleigh71 I will post a pic of them on my page and tag you 😍 The bigger one is Gracie. She is the one I made my husband say yes to off of Craigslist. She looked so sad. She had no leg muscles in her back legs and chugged water until she would barf. But after 5 years she is happy and healthy and funny and she knows it was me who wanted her. She has been mine since day one. So much intelligence in her eyes.

mrsmadariaga @thestarrynight Not sure how old our Lab isbecause she was a rescue. we found her in our neighborhood about 3 1/2-4 years ago wandering around. She was well fed & looked cared for but no one ever claimed her & wasn't chipped so we kept her. The oldest yorkie, Peanut, is 6 1/2-another rescue. The family that had him couldn't care for him any longer. Then we have DiMaggio- our 1st Yorkie age 5 1/2. We also have Dolce age 4-Dimaggios daughter & mom of the 2 pups -Chanel & Valentino (7 mos).

sbethbarnett i love dog loving poshers! it instantly makes a closet that much better to see puppies! mine are my entire world, and my little one is stuck to my hip like glue. it is a love like no other!

sbethbarnett i have a little girl- ailey- who is a dachshund/ terrier mix (fox, rat, jack russel-- we can only guess). my big guy, sawyer, is a mastiff/boxer mix. he was a "rescue" (i stole him from my neighbors- whoops. but they were horrible to him! he was severely malnourished, couldnt walk, embedded collar, eat up with mange and secondary infections when i rescued him). he lives with my grandmother now-- she has made him a house dog at 120 lbs! love my babies !

shopmattea Yeah! I have a Golden Retriever named Sawyer who's just over a year old! So smart and the sweetest guy ever. He wasn't going to be allowed in bed, but he charmed his way around that ;) and whenever he can't come with us on a trip we have no trouble finding someone to watch him because he everyone loves him! I used to be a little judgy of people obsessed with their dogs, now I'm one of them!

kaylynnskorner My sweet Shih Tzu, Cissy, is the reason I'm alive today. I have PTSD and at times it gets pretty bad. When my husband was deployed I was a wreck. I was so severely suffering from PTSD and was alone, except for my pets. I was suicidal even. The only reason I survived was my angel puppy. She stayed right be my side the entire time. Licked my tears. Was my friend and loved me when I needed it so desperately. My life is beautiful now, but I would be here to enjoy it without Cissy's love!

cdelp116 I dearly love my boys 🐶🐶 I find myself rarely ever saying "dog" haha, Smokey & Bandit are silky terrier brother's😊 The Lord found to bless me with 3 wonderful daughters, after they were grown, I found myself blessed again, this time with, "my boys"!! 😬.
