dahliaesque How comfortable are these? For walking as well? I wear my heels all day, though I mostly sit at my desk I still need to be able to walk comfortably when I do. Thanks.

mannysgirl @dahliaesque hi there! I’d call them formal shoes. Not sure you’d want to do a day at the office in them. But I didn’t wear them much to be honest so I can’t really say.

dahliaesque Not sure what’s “formal” in terms of Prada heels, in my experience (Prada Sport lime aside) Prada is formal (can be dressed up/down as anything, but). I intend to wear these w/office style (sometimes close(r) to cocktail-cross-purpose-like dresses), my office wear tends toward the dressier/more formal. Think figure flattering just-above-the-knee dresses, peals, stockings, heels (what you see pictured for 1940s-1960s office wear i. terms of formality). So, "formal" is probably apropos.

dahliaesque Primarily concerned w/actual comfort if having the shoes on for ~10hr day (~75% sitting). is the leather soft & flexible? Fit not too tight? Even weight distribution, *not* falling predominantly on the ball of the foot? most of my Prada heels are 38.5, but these look like they have a bit less room at the big toe (from the photos and what I know of Prada heel styles). Are these pretty standard fit/wear in terms of Prada?

dahliaesque @mannysgirl 3” heel height, for me, falls into comfortable walking height. So unless these are overly stiff, tight (heel-to-toe and/or side-to-side), and/or weight distribution falls wrong (too much on ball of foot) which Prada usually is good about. Do these deviate in comfort from similar-style Prada heels? Thank you

mannysgirl @dahliaesque hi there! Sorry I didn’t see this sooner! I didn’t find these overly tight, especially compared to other Prada heels. The heel high definitely helps in terms of overall comfort (my other Prada heels I have to slip out of after a little while! These weren’t like that). I hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions 😊 I can ship as early as today 🥰

mannysgirl @dahliaesque I walked around a mall once in these...so if you’re at a desk more often than not, I think these would be perfect.

mannysgirl @dahliaesque I’ve owned three pairs of Prada shoes total, and generally I find they run a tad small, so it sounds like that would work for you in this case. I wish I could speak more to the other generalities of Prada shoes but based on my limited experience I can’t. I can take any additional measurements that might be helpful for you - let me know 😊

dahliaesque @mannysgirl Thanks for the response. Okay, questions, approximately what year is this shoe (that can help w/generalizing about the fit.) I’m a true US size 8.5, what’s your usual shoe size? (...500 char limit+my tendency toward verboseness=there being a part 2 to this ^_^*)
Nov 18Reply
dahliaesque
dahliaesque @mannysgirl People define “comfortable” differently, so I’ll clarify my definition. Comfortable for a pair of shoes (regardless of style of shoe) is: they don’t put undue pressure on any part of the foot, they don’t chafe, there’s no pain (whatsoever) from wearing them, that includes when one is actually standing/walking. Definitely absolutely zero discomfort when sitting. Any deviation from that, and that’s a case by case basis if it’s acceptable. But these are meant to be worn all day long...
Nov 18Reply
dahliaesque
dahliaesque @mannysgirl I’ll mention 1 more thing, the heels that end up being truly comfortable for me is when there’s just a tiny bit of room all around between the shoe+foot (just a few millimeters, ~1/16-1/8th of an inch: not enough for the shoe to be loose/insecure on the foot, but enough to it’s not “glued” on). b/c if it’s exactly right when you just put it on, it’ll be too tight after several hours of wear...

dahliaesque
dahliaesque @mannysgirl Oooh! and these are listed as a 9! So that makes it a 39 in Prada Italian sizing - yes? That ½ a size, should definitely compensate for most factors, especially the very-very rounded-appearing toe area (my big toe lives up to it’s name ^_^*) But no chafing/etc, right? These sit comfortably? (And your usual shoe size for heels as well as flats is a US 9?) Thanks again.
Nov 18Reply
mannysgirl
mannysgirl @dahliaesque hi there. I’m a size 9 nearly always. In my experience, even the most consistent sizing varies from time to time.
Nov 18Reply
mannysgirl
mannysgirl @dahliaesque As far as comfort - I’m afraid I can’t address your hypothetical with equity. I’m on my feet all day & would never wear a pair of heels to work - so I’m afraid I can’t speak to the idea of wearing these or any other heel all day “comfortably”. I think these are lovely & travel between casual & upscale well. They are worn; I’m not the original owner, but I think someone will love them! They just aren’t for me. I’m happy to provide you with any helpful measurements.
Nov 18Reply
dahliaesque
dahliaesque @mannysgirl I’ll take any measurements. You said you walked in these at a mall: there wasn’t any pain then? what discomfort did experience in that instance? Sorry for all the ?s, shoe buying is difficult enough under normal circumstances, here only thing I have to go on is what I know of the type of shoe and brand. And what the seller can tell me about the particulars of a specific pair. I really do love these, it’d be nice to have smthng that’s a little bit fun but still classically elegant.
Nov 18Reply
mannysgirl
mannysgirl @dahliaesque I agree that it’s hard to buy shoes here since fit with shoes is so variable. I think I had some blisters after all those hours but I can’t swear to that, and like I said, I don’t wear heels regularly and I can’t remember any heels that didn’t chafe at least a bit. I thought these were more comfortable, though, than others; definitely more than my other Prada heels. I’ll try to get some more measurements for you before I leave for DC tomorrow!
