Yves Saint Laurent Birds Necklace Multi-chain Oversized Georges Braque Vintage

For his Spring-Summer 1988 collection, Yves Saint Laurent paid tribute to various artists including Van Gogh, Picasso and Georges Braque. This fabulous and super-rare vintage necklace is an homage to Braque, known mostly for his cubist works, and whose later art featured minimalist style birds (a sample of which can be seen on the ceiling of Salle Henri II at the Louvre in Paris (see last image). Made from textured gold metal, this oversized double chain necklace features four birds, each ranging in size from 3in to 4in long, and the chain fastens with a loop and bar. Each bird is stamped YSL on the back. It measures a total length of 24in end-to-end on the long chain, 19in end to end on the shorter chain, and the three part bird section measures about 11in L. Definitely a statement piece and certain to generate compliments whenever it's worn! Preowned/vintage (30+ years old) with some signs of use and prior wear: some scratching and loss to the gold metal, most notable on the backs, most hard to see when wearing but evident if inspecting closely.
