Yixing Phoenix & Dragon Teapot. Chinese Rare Vintage Collectable Small Clay Teapot. Era 1960’s. Excellent condition. Great to Gift. Stamp Mark to indicate maker or studio. These teapots are crafted from unique clay found in the Yixing region of China. Made from Zisha clay, AKA "purple mud". Valued for enhancing the flavor of tea due to the clay's porous nature and high heat retention. Constructed from slabs, joined together, unlike wheel-thrown pottery.
