XS Ceil Chapman Vintage Black Jersey 1950s Marilyn Monroe Dress

Ceil Chapman was exemplary as one of Marilyn Monroe's favorite designers in her lifetime. Boned throughout the bodice and cinched at the waist, this dress has a beautiful construction and will make any person who wears it feel like an hourglass bombshell. Ruched/gathered at the bodice, sleeves, and sides of skirt. The shoulder design offers the option to be worn on the edge of the shoulder (where it stays well) or off-the-shoulder for a more sultry look. Features a metal zipper in the back, which zips from the waist up to the v-shaped back. The sleeves are 3/4 length and can be pushed up to be worn at the elbow if you desire- they'll stay there wonderfully. Measurements (in inches): - bust: 34" - waist: 24"-25" - hip: 34"-36" - shoulder: 15" - sleeve: 16" - shoulder to waist: 16" - waist to hem: 25" - length: 41" This dress has lived a long life and changed hands (probably) many times. Because of that, it has some flaws. There are some stitched up parts, but it's in better condition than when I bought it (seriously I had it taken to a seamstress who gave it lots of love). But overall, it's in amazing condition for a dress that's 70 years old.
