Vintage "Silent Butler" or crumb catcher, hand-forged hammered aluminum. These were popular in the 1930s-1950s and used for collecting crumbs and ashes from tables. It features a hinged flip lid for easy disposal of contents. The top is decorated with an etched floral design. This one is uncommon because it still contains 5 hammered aluminum ash trays inside.
