Women's or petite sweater

A very nice Old Navy gray and white sweater. This is a reposh. I do wear a L and this was listed as a L. It indeed says it's a L. However it is the smallest large I've encountered. Possibly shrunk in the wash by previous owner? Possibly marked by the manufacturer? Not sure. But I would say this is more close to a M. No stains, no snags. The previous owner took great care of it. But never worn by me.
