mijomuffins @kara_bishop Do you have the original buttons that would have been on this jacket? Those are modern replacements.

kara_bishop @mijomuffins sorry, this is how the coat was made and how I bought it. Nothing came with it.

kara_bishop @cmknudslien I am sooo very sorry for the late response. Not sure why I stopped getting notifications from here. Laying flat the approximate measurement is 12 inches.

steambunnie @kara_bishop can you add images of the tag or stamping? There should be one that states the size and serial number. It should be somewhere inside the jacket, sometimes they are located within the pockets.

kara_bishop @steambunnie thank you! There is no tags/stamping, not all class As had stamping or tags, especially if having to make your own uniform during that time. Heck my current class As do not have tags because bought used and the liner had to be replaced. if there was any tag or stamping it would have been pictured much like in my other postings.

steambunnie @kara_bishop that’s interesting, to my knowledge class As we’re not handmade in WWII. What is your source for this information? I’ve been teaching women’s military history for about 10 years and I sew so if this is true it would be a fun fact to add to presentations!

kara_bishop @steambunnie the source came from one of my family members (great aunt) who was an Army nurse during WWII then transferred to an Army Secretary. I believe this was hers. I knew she made a lot of her own clothes and had to fix up her uniforms because she didn’t have enough money to buy new clothes/uniforms. Does look like the lining has been fixed up around the arms, like a quick fix type thing. Pretty sure the buttons are not original. The military buttons tend to fall of easily, I know.
