@jazz72 hi. I checked the reviews on LL bean regarding the size. Many people order 1/2 size down. I would think you wouldn't be able to wear thick socks but they are a very spacious shoe. I have a very narrow foot, I wear a 7-1/2 and I fit in the size 7 and there is room.
