Now, this particular piece is sourced from S. Elizabeth’s book "The Art of the Occult: A Visual Sourcebook for the Modern Mystic.”
The piece that you see inside this custom painted (glass enclosed) ballerina blush pink frame is a unique and curious piece… perhaps we need many more men like Mr. Garrett. I am truly empowered by working with this piece of art… this very special black and white photograph.

Why I love this piece:
This piece includes a subtle yet visually pleasing and curious glimpse into the wild nature of the female spirit in its most natural form. Not only this, but the setting chosen appears to be a cool and damp place and the viewer can almost feel the wet soil between their own fingers and on their own knees as they imagine they themselves crawling amongst these free creatures photographed in real time.

There is something that black and white photographs have which is often faded or diminished when the colors of life are filled in. Black and white photography is the method that no other form of art can capture- what an image calls for- the truth provided by real and clear contrast and an honest portrayal of its attempt at depicting the lesson to be taught.

In this example, the black and white tones draw us in rather quickly due to the fact that literal lifelike colors are not revealed. This would diminish the viewers capacity to fully partake in the images true and bare context. Each viewer might fill color in behind their thoughtful consciousness- in their subconscious, while the conscious mind lays unbothered by the frivolity of colors.

When viewing this piece, I do not imagine that these women paid very much attention to the artists presence as they seem to be rather consumed by the sensations of their rightful freedom. One peering into this sacred moment wishes that they too could breath the clean, fresh air of this dark and moody forest. This piece brings to the “modern civilized mind” possible concerns about safety, security, cleanliness, self-preservation, and, if I might add, “dignity.”

In an instant, with only the slightest amount of curiosity, one can assume that none of these wild and spirited women are living inside that kind of mind. They are outside of thinking in the ways that our world has taught us to think for thousands of years… and counting. These women show no concern for the camera that carefully catches each of their erotic yet personal and private moments in this mystical and even ominous forest.

One can only feel a tinge of envy for what these women have lost in this forest- burden, expectation, form, judgement, self-hatred, and it goes on. The more that the viewer leaves their own private world and climbs into this piece, the more they feel their own revolution, renaissance, spirit, innate nature, and their birth right returned to them- freedom.

This forest calls to all who dare to stare. This forest waits to be gazed into and it waits to take each viewer on their own journey through their personal doubts and desire for answers. It sits and waits for all to surrender doubt and just forget that aching need for every answer once and for all.

This piece is being listed and sold as pictured and will arrive to you carefully framed in this DIY upgraded solid wooden easel back picture frame which is coated carefully in a gentle and feminine ballerina blush pink acrylic paint (hand mixed by yours truly).

Frame Details:
I chose this specific color for the frame in my imagination rather quickly because despite the lack of clean carpet, proper dress, kept hair, polite smiles and, most obviously, despite any sort of “dignified” posture whatsoever, these women are completely beautifully feminine in their nature just as they are. While this photograph is full of action and while we can see some sort of process taking place for them, the image is still so relaxing and precious.

Their lack of constraint bonded together with their attachment to the earth provides us with something beyond words. Their bodies are loving the earth and themselves on the earth. It’s rather clear that they have not the worries which unconsciously drive many of us every single day, unfortunately. But there is something so precious in the way that they are making pure love to the earth in the most natural and consuming way.

Their nude bodies bear down into the soil and their organic positions and movements are so individual yet united in their processes. I see a very powerful form of femininity in this totally revolutionary photograph. So, back to the paint color on the frame- what else could it be other than a lovely and simple “ballerina blush pink?!”

The frame that I carefully pampered up to accentuate this piece provides a stage for the power and truth of the women depicted here marrying themselves to the most nurturing, loving, dependable, consistent and most beautiful thing that humans can know- our Earth! A woman is most capable of embracing her inherent feminine side when she is most thoughtfully and thoroughly cared for… and who can care for a woman more than Mother Earth can? Who ever has?

The painted frame has been sealed with a clear acrylic paint sealant to protect and preserve the paints vibrance, color tone and organic presentation over time. I have also painted the rear side of the frame so that (being an easel back) it may be seen from different angles and still show pretty in pink!
