"Belleek Ware" Shabby Chic Feminine Fine Art - Add to a modern environment and it warms and plays off modern decor well. Warm loving whimsical decor. Belleek Ware or China; first produced in Beileek, Ireland, in the mid 19th century; is a thin delicate pottery resembling porcelian, having an iridescent or pearly glaze. "Producing a Plece of Belleek" Each piece begins by extruding clay, then cutting strains into lengths. These lengths are woven over a form covered with a damp doth. The clay is left to dry and is then removed from the form. Roses, leaves are handmade and attached. The piece is left to dry for 24 hrs, and then Fired in a kiln. Roses and leaves are then airbrushed, with an underglaze, and then fired again. As a final step the entire piece is airbrushed with a glaze and fired one last time. Each piece takes from 4 to 12 hrs. to weave and approsmately 6 days for completed product. Beautifully crafted candle holders in pink and cream. Features delicate floral accents.
