roxygal56 @mariabessem It was quite an involved process since it was the government. I don’t have any literature to share. The first thing I did was get an application of disability and turned it in. Over the next two years I was jerked around. I finally retained an attorney of disability and about a year later I was granted permanent disability. See part 2

roxygal56 Part 2) You need to prepare yourself for a fight. The one regret I had was not to involve an attorney early on. That was a mistake...the commotion & uncertainty of the process took two years of my life. They will base their decision on how much documentation your docs can provide. My charts combined were 8-10” thick. A lot of paper!!! It’s a fight you can win but it will be hard fight. I’m trying to prepare you for what’s ahead.

roxygal56 You need to go to your SS office and get the app or you may be able to do on line in this day and age. My attorney took one third of the back pay I was owed. I would have gave him more. I’m sorry you’re feeling so bad. It can be debilitating. I wish I had easy answers for you. In my case at that time adhesions weren’t considered a reason to be disabled. Maybe times have changed but once my attorney took over it all went so much better. I had lived with it for 25years before I was approved.

roxygal56 I’m not trying to be a downer but you are in for a tough fight unless you go to an attorney who specializes in this. Ask around see whose got a good rep in a thirty mile radius. I truly wish I have paperwork or more info about this stuff. Your medical history and your doc opinions will be what they give the most weight. Make sure you’ve got the i’s dotted & t’s x. I wish you all the best and if I think anything else I’ll luk. All my best w/ prayers ✨⭐️🙏🏼⭐️✨

roxygal56 @5starfinds Hi Maria, Nice to hear from you. I’ve been on a medical leave of absence since Aug 3. I had an obstructed small bowel and I’ve been having Issues since then. Right now we are looking to see if there are other reasons as to why I’m not getting any better. I just am not getting better and past the episode from Aug. So it’s tests to get to the bottom of these problems. Hope you are doing okay. Thanks for reaching out.

5starfinds @roxygal56 I continue to be on disability. Had surgery in May and need a hip replacement in January. Please go on the Facebook group- Let’s Shine a Light on Adhesion Related Disorder( Support Group). You would not believe the comrade did and support from others. Highly recommend. April Haynes is the admin.

roxygal56 @5starfinds I’m so sorry you continue to battle the adhesions too. It seems they continue to contribute to a host of other problems for us both. Thanks for the info about the support group and I will check it out in the near future. Right now I’m experiencing a lot of fatigue and exhaustion with this most recent episode. I’m hopeful to turn the page and feel better again. It’s what I’ve been praying for. I will continue to pray for you too.

roxygal56 @5starfinds Thank you for the compassion and thoughtfulness as it means so very much to me. The testing is necessary to ascertain that there isn’t other reasons as to why I’m having so much difficulty with the abdominal problems. My doc has been very supportive with her care for me. They are making sure there aren’t additional reasons for my problems at this time. Your prayers are appreciated and I’m sending you prayers as well. Thank you for your advice.
