Antique 1885c Wallis Gimson & Co. British Earthenware Covered Sauce Tureen Alexandria Pattern 39268 This large earthenware platter is printed in dark brown. Made by Wallis Gimson & Co. of Lane Delph Pottery, Fenton. Influenced by the Aesthetic Movement, the pattern reflects the period's keen interest in nature and travel to exotic lands. This series of patterns was first registered on May 27, 1884, with production ending sometime prior to the close of the factory in 1890. About 135 years old. Excellent condition for its age. Age spots, wear, residue and one chip. Slight wear on corners and some scalloped edges. Wear on all bases and some scalloped edges. 1" chip on rim. Backstamp sharp and clear.
