Will do its own thing when the switch is turned on, but you can also prompt it by pushing the button hidden under its fur in the middle of the kitty's back. Just apply pressure. Runs on 3 AA batteries. The battery compartment is on the belly under Velcro opening. It's secured to the body by 2 screws for child safety. This is also where the "on," "off," & "try me" slider switch is located.
