Vtg General Electric Portable Tape Recorder Model 3-5103A w/ Mic *Test; Need Fix

The Vtg General Electric Portable Tape Recorder Model 3-5103A is a vintage audio device manufactured by GE in Korea. This model features a built-in microphone and is designed for portable use, making it a unique and collectible piece for vintage electronics enthusiasts. Although it may require some restoration or repair, this tape recorder retains its charm and functionality as a classic piece of audio equipment from the past. This item was tested by me. It powered on but did not play the tape. The machine made a high pitch noise when I pressed play. Comes with cord. This item also has an individuals full name on the front silver part in permanent marker. I did not attempt to clean but in hide it for privacy. I didn't know what the right thing was to do. I've heard alcohol, like rubbing alcohol, might work to remove the marker. I did not have time to invest in this item. See pictures. Paper is covering up name.
