Vtg Clear Glass Serving Platter Set Anchor Hocking Stars & Bars Pressed Glass

Fantastic set of clear pressed glass party serving pieces. Both pieces are from the Anchor Hocking pattern set "Stars and Bars," also known as "Thousand Lines" and "Rainbow Stars" produced between 1940 and 1960. This is one of the most popular patterns made by Anchor Hocking. It is exactly as the name implies, bars, either straight or arched, that hold several cut (pressed) stars between them. This is a pressed glass pattern that catches the light beautifully. The large platter is 12" in diameter and was originally manufactured as a five part relish dish. The center is perfect for a cheese ball or a small bowl full of dip. An elegant vintage serving alternative for cheese and crackers or chips and dip at your next party. The smaller oval dish is a two-section divided dish, excellent as a serving piece and was originally manufactured as a relish dish. It could also be used throughout the house to hold small items such as a ring catcher on your bedside table or in the front foyer to hold keys and change from your pockets. Both pieces are in excellent vintage condition. There are no cracks, chips or repairs.
