Vtg 80s Does 30s Lilac Lace Romantic Tea Dance Dress/ Party Frock - Med, Bust 36

Gorgeous Lilac Lace Dress lined in deeper purple crepe has handkerchief point hemline, fluttering lace sleeves, and features lovely lines that flatter the female form. Shoulder pads hold the sleeves out before allowing them to drop delicately over the shoulder, wide bands of lace cross over the front, then drape and wrap around the hips, and form a huge bustle like bow across the back. Circular skirt attached to bodice at hip height releases below the wrap forming the beautifully draped skirt.  This dress is extremely flattering from all angles. It closes up the back with a long zipper, then features a back slit and fastens closed with a small covered button and fabric loop at the back top neckline. Cleverly placed seaming and darts, combined with perfect draping of the fabric shape the waistline. The lace and crepe fabric is very well utilized in this design.  The lace fabric features swirling nature inspired Art Nouveau patterning and a delicate lilac color that was extremely popular during the 1930s. Dress is very well made.  Skirt has uneven hemline, and lining is shorter than the overskirt allowing the bottom edge of the skirt to be sheer lace for about 3 to 5 inches. The length of dress is measured from back nape of neck at the button to the longest portion of the hem - giving 44" as the longest length. I estimate the shortest length to be about 6" less or 38"  This hits below the knee to about mid calf on a 5'7" woman. It will vary with a wearer's height.
