Vtg 1965 Original Poster Plaza de Toros Madrid Bullfight Gabriel De La Casa & Jose Luis De La Casa Brothers "Two Great Steer Runs"
This poster is from our trip to Spain in March of 1965. We were actually at this particular bullfight. I have included the photos my dad took while at the Plaza de Toros. It truly was a spectacular event. Colorful with so much tradition during the parade. The original photos are not included but I would be happy to send copies if one wishes.
It was quite an event at the time. Apparently, it was the first time the two brothers were in the ring together.
Gabriel de la Casa Pazos, born in Madrid on September 2, 1948, was the son of the bullfighter Emiliano de la Casa "Morenito de Talavera", who enjoyed a good reputation during the 1940s.
With his brother José Luis, who ended up being his banderillero, he began to fight as a bullfighter in the early 1960s in American bullrings, to the point that he debuted with picadors in Quito (Ecuador) in 1964, even before doing so in Spain.
De la Casa took the alternative on August 9, 1967 in the Plaza de Manzanares (Ciudad Real), sponsored by Manuel Benítez "El Cordobés" and before bulls from Montalvo , and did not confirm it in Madrid until two years later at the fair of San Isidro, hand in hand with Serranito and in the presence of Tinín.
A bullfighter with elegant manners and a good connoisseur of the trade, he suffered numerous and repeated mishaps.
