Vivienne Westwood vintage Gold Label silk top from 2003 Vivienne Westwood flexes her historical prowess in this dramatic silk blouse from 2003, a Japanese exclusive from her high end Gold Label line . The voluminous leg-of-mutton sleeves in sheer silk and elongated buttoned cuffs - a clear nod to Victorian era., Yet in typical Westwood style - the iconic designer flips these antiquated motifs on their heads. Through a sharply curved hem and draping gathered & snatching in that waist, Westwood manages to make Victorian dressing, look modern and surprisingly sexy. Made in Italy from 100% silk it features a rare darker hued tag with faint orb watermark—used briefly during Westwood’s early 2000s Gold Label years. One of my fav pieces from my archives it’s the perfect example of what can happen when a thoughtful designer like Westwood, steers clear of mood board reference, & instead pulls from her vast well of art & history. Size on label US 6/ UK10 Measurement estimates: Bust 34” Waist 30” Length 27” In very good vintage condition. No visible signs of damages., flaws or alterations. Some fading as expected from age.
