Vintage Native Stamped Heartline Bear Cuff

A sweet vintage piece. This cuff is stamped nicely including heart line spirit bears. Often found on Zuni pieces (but not only the Zuni), the heart line is an arrow that starts at the mouth where breath gives life and points to the heart (soul, spirit) where faith and inner strength preside. The Bear heart line symbol shows that the warrior’s heart, or life force, is as strong as a bear’s. This cuff is rigid and shown on a 6.75” wrist - snug but not uncomfortable. Fairly thick with NO flex. Would be ok for 6.5” to 6.75” but I’d hesitate to go much bigger. Just under an inch in width. I believe it is nickel silver. Non-magnetic. Looks handmade. Native Americans worked in whatever they had available, including fine silver, coin silver and nickel silver. This is a well made cuff - the stamping is quite well done and of very nice quality. Blackened in the recesses. Excellent vintage condition with mild wear as would be expected. Hard to date as is unmarked (many weren’t)- 70’s? 80’s? Likely Zuni or Navajo. The great thing about nickel silver is it doesn’t tarnish.
