Vintage Japanese Boy and Girl

I wish I knew the history here! These are really old I do know that. They will need to be cleaned I’m afraid to ruin the paint. Two figures both with their stunning rounded hats. The hats look to be lined with gold. Some crazing due to age but no chips or cracks that I can see or feel. A small amount of missing paint in random spots but hardly noticeable! These are precious!!!
