Vintage vest - maroon plus various colors

This is a vintage vest that seems to have been pieced together with little round fabric appliqués (varying patterns and varying solid colors but mostly maroon). It’s very unique! I purchased it from a fellow collector and artist who discovered it in a vintage shop in NYC. You can dress it up or dress it down and it looks nice with or without a belt. There is no tag or size but it fits a size small (with larger openings for the arms - see photo). Model in photo is 5’10”.
