Vintage skirt Marchesa di Gresy for I. Magnin & Co.

This is a really special find. Vintage wool knit pencil skirt from a house designer for one of the country’s iconic department stores. Marchesa di Grey for I.Magnin tagged size 14, but I am dating this to the 1960s and estimate it to fit like a contemporary 4-6. Flat lay waist 14 inches; estimate hip 17 1/2. 26 1/2 inches long. Fully lined. See pictures for glimpse of lining, seam allowance, and hem finish. 7 1/2 inch side zipper. Two 3 1/4 inch darts front and back. Waist elastic should be replaced, due to age. Great collector’s piece. Good for garment historians who want to study construction.
