Vintage silk dress by Miss Elliette of California

Absolutely gorgeous vintage, custom silk cocktail dress by Miss Elliette of California. Hand screened silks from Italy. Colors are incredibly vibrant (it was hard to get a good photo); scroll through the images to get close-ups of the floral print. Very "Madmen" in vibe -- and this is the real deal! No size is given in the dress itself, but there are measurements in the photos. Bust (armpit-to-armpit) = 18" (measured flat) Waist = 17" (measured flat) Length = 41.5" "Miss Elliette was a label owned and designed by Elliette Ellis. After studying at the Traphagen School of Fashion and working for a dress manufacturer, Ellis started her own line in 1952. She made mid-priced dinner and cocktail dresses that were very feminine, even in the 1960s and 1970s when fashion had moved in a different direction. Despite this, the line was very successful. The Miss Elliette label lasted into the 1990s."
