This is a special vintage set of Satsuma hand painted vases, from Japan. The estimated date of production is between 1921 and 1941, when the imported pieces had to specify the origin. They were then produced before the World War II, what a historical set! They are porcelain vases with some wear compatible with the age.
They are from an auction house and were beautifully painted! The predominant color is brown and they are etched as well as painted in the moriage Satsuma style with raised gold details complementing the figures. The colors are vivid and the geishas are part of the design.
The set contains: 1 small vase, a mini narrow vase, and a round mini vase that was probably an incense diffuser (missing the lid ?). Two of them have the stamp "made in Japan" on the bottom. The narrow vase has the stamp/logo of T.T. Takito Made in Japan.
Dimensions:
Taller vase: 5" H x 3.8" D
Narrow mini vase: 3" H x 3.3" L x 1" W
I am selling the set because I believe they were part of a collection and complement each other.
