Vintage irregular choice, faux reptile-skin futuristic kitten-heel bootie, 40.5

Incredible pair of shoes that have been cherished and adored. <3 They would be an heirloom piece for me, but they are simply too small and I’ve passed the age where I’m willing to jam my feet into them . Purchased from the irregular choice NYC flagship store in Soho in the early 2010s. The size is marked 40.5, but they fit more like a 38 1/2 or 39 in my opinion. Also, my feet just got bigger after pregnancy. But I typically wear a 40 in Birkenstocks and 10 other shoes. I’d say if you’re a typical women’s 9 will work for you. I don’t have a sense of whether they are typical for irregular choice sizing or not. A fun bit of lore: the sales person told me that the last person to buy this shoe was Björk, which was credible because she lived across the street on Lafayette at that time. Of course this made me need to buy them even though they were too small when I did. Please note that the heel on the right shoe does need some TLC. A good cobbler can make that happen. (I’m afraid I inadvertently destroyed that one side maybe from biking in these too many times.)
