Vintage geometric felted wool square table scarf, runner, or trivet - textile

This is a very unique and well-made felted wool table scarf. It's very thick, as you can see in my photo of the edge. It could even be used as a trivet for a hot dish. It appears to be handmade, but I am not sure where it is from. Maybe it's Scandinavian? It is a 17" square. It features vibrant colors of red, brown, white, blue, and green.
