Vintage Zell Fifth Ave Face Powder Brass Compact Puff & Screen Collectible NOS

Vintage NOS watch design brass compact by Zell of Fifth Avenue. It has the original unused puff, unused screen sifter, black tassel and gray felt pocket. Measures 2 1/2" in diameter x 3/8" thick. This is designed to look like a pocket watch with a lineage and swirl design and blank circle on the front that can be engraved with owner's initials or name. The button at the top is pushed in and the lid opens like a pocket watch. Excellent condition. Push button latch works well. Only very light scratches to the brass finish, mirror is clear, compact is clean. Zell, a USA manufacturer, was a leading compact company from the '30s-'60s and was one of the "5th Avenue" lines, along with Rex, Dorset, Columbia and Dale. They did not always sign their cases so ID is often difficult unless signed puff is present. The compact is old stock from the Zell Connecticut factory. While the compact itself remains unbranded, it comes complete with original puff.
