Vintage Yellow Bakelite Hoop Earrings

A pair of vintage Bakelite earrings from the 1950s. But unlike many Bakelite earrings, these are for pierced ears.The color is on the warm side, with just a hint of gold tone in it. Hung from sterling silver ear wires. The hoops are 1-1/2 inches in diameter and 1/8th inch thick. Very sturdy, fun to wear. Pre-owned, as is. Bakelite was the first synthetic plastic, used for a wide range of jewelry and household goods, manufactured in New Jersey from 1909 through the 1930s. Now highly collectible.
