From Lip Service's legendary Fall 2001 Quoth the Raven collection, this long gothic gown comes in a size Large and is in great condition for its age. It runs small, like a slim Medium. Measures 15" across bust, 13" waist and 52" center front when laid flat. Probably fits a bust circumference of 34-36"ish. I know Lip Service mass produced some items in this line for Hot Topic in a lower quality but I don't believe the gown was one of them. Regardless it's NOT a Hot Topic version because those have -HT at the end of the SKU.
It's made of purple and black velvet in a damask print with a sheer black mesh skirt with an opaque polyester knit lining. Sleeveless corset style bodice with plastic boning. Zipper with hook and eye closure in the back. The mesh outer skirt is shirred at the bottom seams creating a draped effect.
I recently repaired the skirt as the clear elastic they had originally used for the shirring had disintegrated, much like their PVC from that era. I replaced the clear elastic inside the seam with 1/4 inch black elastic band sewn to the sticky side of the seam allowance. This will hold up better over time. I've shown a pic where you can see the after/before side by side. There are a few tiny snags in the bottom of the skirt. See pics for all.
This is a rare find in a highly sought after size, therefore my asking price is high. I'm open to offers but no lowballs, please!

@violet_riot I have this exact same gown! It is absolutely gorgeous and one of the few Lippy items I'm having trouble letting go of because it is extremely rare. Whoever gets this dress will be blown away by the beauty and quality of it. 🙂
