Vintage Whiting and Davis Silver tone mesh bag circa 1954

Vintage Whiting and Davis Silver tone mesh bag circa 1954. The exterior of the mesh is in pristine condition. Purse clasp and chain in perfect working order. The interior of the bag has some discoloration due to age. The original coin purse and double sided mirror which slips into an interior pocket are included. The purse frame is stamped Made in USA, Mesh Whiting and Davis Co Bags, and 2789. The rhinestone clasp is gorgeous but is missing the center adornment - I am not sure what kind of stone it should have, but I have placed a pearl inside the spot in the 6th picture so that you can see the possibility of what it would look like with something glued there. Pick anything you like! The remainder of the rhinestones are intact with no others missing. The bag frame has some patina and scratches, but these are inevitable considering the bag is over 70 years old. The bag has been dated by the Whiting & Davis Oromesh tag. Whiting & Davis' patent for oromesh was applied for on April 23, 1954 and registered on July 19, 1955. This places the bag's manufacturing date during this period.
