Vintage Wedgwood Jasperware Sage Green Posy Vases Set of 2
Miniature sage green trumpet shaped vases of Wedgwood Jasperware. It has the unique matte green base color with four white relief figures. They seem to represent a mother and son, Cupid and a Goddess, separated by large trees and plants. Grecian theme.
One vase does have a chip on the side. The other one has no chips or cracks.
These pretty little vases stand 4 in tall, 3.25 in diameter at top. The base is 2 5/8" in diameter. The base is marked "Wedgwood, Made in England".
Jasperware, or jasper ware, is a type of pottery first developed by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1770s. Usually described as stoneware, it has an unglazed matte "biscuit" finish and is produced in a number of different colors, of which the most common and best known is a pale blue that has become known as Wedgwood Blue, with the sage green being second most popular.
