Vintage from the 1940s
This listing is for a beautiful glass boot - made by Boyd's Crystal Art Glass. 5" long, and 4-1/2" high. Diamond cut square pattern. Elegant style and pattern. No chip, repair.
Vaseline glass (Uranium glass) originated in the 19th Century. Uranium was used to give the glass its Vaseline color. In the 1940s the use of uranium was banned for military reasons. The ban was lifted in the 1950s but because the cost was prohibitive by that point there was very little manufactured after that point.
True Vaseline glass will glow a bright green under a blacklight.
(1 inch = 25.4 mm; 1 dime = 17.9mm).
