This is actually a toe ring called Masoli from the state of Maharashtra, India. Married women have been wearing these for centuries. In the coastal culture in Mahrashtra, fish symbolizes water which signifies fertility and life.
The ring is adjustable and can fit sizes 6-8 on ring fingers or can be adjusted to fit toes. The ring measures 1" x 1/3" and is marked with "RGV" on the back.
Special thanks to fellow Posher rummage_tales for this message about this ring: "Was browsing unusual rings when I came across your listing. This is actually a toe ring called Masoli from the state of Maharashtra, India. Married women have been wearing these for centuries. In the coastal culture in Mahrashtra, fish symbolizes water which signifies fertility and life. So in conclusion, this isn't a Victorian ring but a tribal Indian piece of jewelry. Would be cool to see these are rings instead of toe rings though. Always saw these 'fishies' on my Mom's feet growing up."
