Made in Tilso Japan in the 1960's, this Whiskey/Liquor Jug features a Castle and a Cathedral in White Raised Relief and Golt Gilt Trim on a Cobalt Blue background all Under Glaze. The Jug is made of Heavy Pottery and features a Stopper in the form of a Crown with a Natural Cork Bottom. The Underside of the Jug has a wood insert that houses the Music Box inside. as well as a Working Metal Wind Up Key and Metal Lever. When the key is wound and the Jug is lifted up the Music Box plays the tune "How Dry I Am". When you set the Jug down on any surface the Metal Lever stops the music. The Jug also retains the Original Foil Label that says JAPAN.
7 1/4"H including stopper x body 14 1/2" in circumference x 3 1/2" W at bottom.
Condition: Excellent Perfect. No chips, cracks or fleabites to pottery. No paint loss. Key and lever work perfectly. Music box works perfectly. Cork is dry but in good condition. It’s also from a smoke and pet free home.
