Vintage Syrocco Hand Carved Wooden Painter Fishermen, Set of 4

Syrocco was a manufacturing company that made decorative woodwork and household items in Syracuse, New York from 1890 until 2007. These 4 fishermen were probably purchased in the 1930s – 1940s and are now considered collectible. Purchased by my paternal grandmother on the coast of Portland, Maine, these have been in my family for many years. They show some scuff marks to the paint, but are in good, aged condition. These pieces are known for their detailed designs and distinctive wood-like finish, which is actually a blend of wood pulp and resin. Spotting a genuine Syrocco is a thrill for any collector.
