Artist Robert Christie is one of the best known dog and sporting artists in the South. Because of his love of animals, he considered veterinary medicine, but the pull of art proved stronger. He studied fine arts at Ohio Wesleyan University, illustration at Pratt Institute, then portrait painting at Pratt and at The Art Students League in New York.
