linvilledeb Does it have any Ferragamo markings or stamps on any of the hardware? Is there a serial number on the tag inside?

semonek26 @linvilledeb as I mentioned in the description this is a vintage ferragamo bag you can tell quality through the leather and the stitching scrutinize the logo for symmetry, color consistency, and finish. You may research this and will see that the older bags didn’t have a authentication code inside but it will give you a list of how to determine the genuine quality

linvilledeb @semonek26 yes I appreciate that and my concern Have you had this authenticated? It is impractical to say that it’s authentic via pictures

cafe_posh @linvilledeb just to weigh in, I have the same concerns you do. I own over 30 SF bags and consider myself a fairly informed collector.

semonek26 @cafe_posh we’ll maybe you can help authenticate it, like I said it’s really hard to determine with the older makes

cafe_posh @semonek26 I'm not an expert--that being said, I have a few thoughts. The pochette style was popular in the 2000s. All SF pochette styles (I have seen) have the gancini logo in metal somewhere along the strap. They usually have metal zipper pulls with the SF name, and they all have inner leather tags with the name and "made in Italy". Even a bag I have from the 1980s has this. Additionally, I don't usually the name shortening to "Ferragamo" and some of the edging and stitching seems a bit off.

cafe_posh That being said, I am not an expert. It might be worth it to you to authenticate--there are quite a few handbag resell sites that can do this, and maybe Poshmark does this if you claim the bag is worth more than $500? I'm not sure.
