Purchased in Leningrad in 1990, this Palekh box is lined with velvet, and measures 4 1/2" wide, 6 1/4 long and is 2 1/4 deep with the lid on. NB: There is slight buckling of the papier mache in the upper right and left quadrants as shown in the blow-ups, but no signs of peeling.
