Vintage Rumrill Pottery 1938 Art Deco Ceramic Crocus Tulip Floral Matte Green Vase The simplicity and lines of this gorgeous vase truly highlight the Art Deco period in which is was made. The floral silhouette, simple lines and scallops speak to the 1930s. This is a Rumrill vase in mint green with a matching green interior. It is signed on the bottom with Rumrill's two L signature with the Pattern number. It measures approximately 9" tall and 5" wide at its largest point. Rumrill Pottery was designed by George Rumrill of Little Rock, Arkansas. From 1933 to 1938, it was produced by the Red Wing Pottery of Red Wing, Minnesota. In January 1938, production was transferred to the Shawnee Pottery in Zanesville, Ohio. I believe this particular piece was produced by Red Wing but it is right on the cusp so it could possibly have been produced by Shawnee. The company was moved again in December of 1938 to Florence Pottery Company in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, where Rumrill ware continued to be manufactured until the pottery burned in 1941. It was then produced by Gonder Ceramic Arts in South Zanesville until early 1943. This vase is a beautiful piece of history. There are no chips but there is a 2” hairline crack which is visible in photo 6. Some discoloration on the bottom. Price is reflective of condition. Still a beautiful vintage piece.
