Vintage Retro Rare Chainmail Mesh Handbag Purse Aluminium 1950s

This unusual, fun handbag is in extraordinary condition for its age. It is made of white metal "beads" interconnected via silver metal rings (see detail photo). This unique construction gives the alluring style of a beaded-bag with the enticing weight an drape of chainmail. The large bag has a zipper closing across the top, an outside pocket on each side that is the full width of the bag, and two braided handles attached with gold-tone hardware. The interior of the center of the bag and the two pockets are fully lined with a 6" zippered pocket in the center section. The metal beads are in very good condition, I find only three spots where one may be missing but its absence is hardly perceptible. The hardware is in good shape with some wear showing on the top zipper pull. Both zippers work smoothly. The faux white patent leather on the band inside around the top and braided into the straps does show its age but is still sturdy and intact. 10" tall x 11" wide and 1 1/2" thick. Handles are each 30" long.
