About Hargail:
HARGAIL was a firm of music publishers and dealers in musical instruments. It was founded in New York in the 1940s by Harold Newman, then president of the American Recorder Society. Hargail specialized in recorder music, and though its early output was for the adult amateur, much of its later music was intended for schools. In addition to its publishing activities, the firm dealt in recorders and sold guitar kits.
