billygreeneyes Please, as you read this understand that this entire message is conveyed in a purely passive tone which is so hard to feel by simply just reading… I apologize for missing your offer Great seller… But to be honest restoration would cost twice or maybe even three times more than the purchase price…

billygreeneyes I have to admit that I can envision this watch having a second life because it’s so beautiful however in order for me to restore it and give it a clean second life for someone(which would likely be my better half ), I would certainly have to remove the engraving from the bottom plate so it would have a fresh start

billygreeneyes Another option I would have is to service the movement and try to find another original case to house the movement which, speaking from experience, I can tell you that at times finding another original watch case is a nightmare in its own right not to mention what it would likely cost to get it…

billygreeneyes I promise you I intend no offense at all I just believe in being upfront and truthful about things so the seller doesn’t think that I’m trying to lowball them and they wind up blocking me from the purchase or they raise the price to show me their mad… It’s such a terrible feeling because you can’t explain anything to them by using the alphabet on this platform…

awardrobe88 @billygreeneyes I am a lover of vintage and antiques at the ripe age of 26 and just started to start buying, selling and trading about a year or so ago more avidly, so there is still so much to learn as America and other countries founded companies have a rich history! As a seller, i wish to be fair to my lovely buyers and want all parties to be satisfied with their purchase, so I like the fact you as a buyer can voice your experience and knowledge!

awardrobe88 @billygreeneyes given the condition of the watch, I am aware restoration most likely will have to take place and given the age those parts as you stated are probably expensive and getting harder to find as the years go on. I am open to offers and take no offense if one is a lowball if my buyer will truly love the item and give it a beautiful second life! I am a seller with a tough skin and appreciate the art of the deal, so I’ll make you an offer and let me know what you think!

billygreeneyes @awardrobe88 I really hope I didn’t offend you… hi to I am a collector and occasionally a seller… your age is wonderful because you have so much time to explore and learn as to where I am 62 years of age and have been crazy about vintage items since I saw my first Seiko watch as a kid… If you have any questions that you think I can help you with please feel free to ask because even now I feel education is important… Or perhaps even now more than ever and thank you for the kind words… Billy…

awardrobe88 @billygreeneyes definitely did not offend me in the slightest! I am happy a collector with as much knowledge as you can share it with me! If I come across any more watches I may take you up on the offer as I agree education is very important, especially as the years go by!
