Vintage Purple Iris Flower Brooch Stamped Enameled Brass

This lovely vintage purple iris flower brooch is made of stamped enameled brass. The flower is accented with shades of purple enamel, while the stem is adorned with green enamel. In the language of flowers, iris symbolized eloquence and wisdom. The three petals of the iris also represented the holy trinity in religious symbolism. The brooch measures 2 3/4 inches in length and 2 1/4 inches in width, and it has a roll-over clasp for closure. It is in lovely vintage condition with very little enamel loss and light patina.
